HOW TO HANG ART
We often have customers asking us how to hang art, so here are a few tips.
- To create strong impact in a room, try hanging all your wall art in clusters or groups, or fill a whole wall. If you are hanging a group of pictures, lay them out on a big table or the floor first to play with the arrangement. You can also lay them on paper, trace around each piece and then tape them on the wall to check the layout. To give your art the exposure it deserves, hang your wall art at eye level.
- If the wall art is going to be hung above a couch or bed take care not to leave too much space between the couch or bed and the art. If the gap is too large, the wall space will take attention from the art. Also, the white space should be less between the art and the couch, bed, dresser etc. than the white space above.
- Not all art has to be hung on the wall; a plate rack works great for smaller wall art pieces, try using an easel for larger canvases, lean art against a shelf or add to chair rail. These are clever, unique ways to feature photographs, art, decor, etc…
- Lastly, don’t be afraid to BE BOLD! One big piece of art becomes the focal point of a room and becomes an instant conversation starter for parties and get togethers.
Art is a reflection of one’s individuality, so have fun with the art items you love and let your personality shine through.
