Growing up in the Midwest, Kim Holbrook spent lots of wintry afternoons creating art. After studying art in college, she moved to California where she was influenced by the architecture and bold colors inherent to Mexican and Californian design. Kim's lively paintings are inspired by the bright, vibrant colors found in the landscape that surrounds her. The repetitive pattern in textiles (especially Native American) interests her as well, inspiring her to layer bold acrylic colors in multiple horizontal bands. Kim enjoys painting large-scale.
